It's a JUNGLE Out There !

When I arrived back in Angers last week, I was excited to get started on a new project ... taming the JUNGLE that was our garden!
I've never had my very own garden before, and my plant expertise usually doesn't reach beyond knowing when there's absolutely no hope for the survival of one of my house plants, and finally throwing the poor thing out. So maybe it's a bit over-ambitious of me to think that I can actually turn this wild space into a place where I'd actually want to sit and relax, and maybe even harvest a tomato or two. But, hey -- it'll be fun trying! (And there really are too many plants for even me to kill ALL of them during this year!)
So ... you want to see what it used to look like??

(This is in front of the house, looking toward the street.)

(This is on the side, complete with a bunch of Philipp's stuff that I'm hoping he'll get rid of.)

And now, after a few good days of weeding, turning over soil, pruning rose bushes, etc., it's starting to look a lot better. Here's the side of the house (see above) now ...

(I labelled this photo READY FOR VEGGIES.)

There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm looking forward to it. :)
