After running the Paris Marathon (April 15) and Cincinnati Flying Pig Half Marathon (May 6), I took a few weeks off running. It was nice to be a bit lazy, and my body appreciated the break! But I've been feeling like I need to get back into my training, especially because I have my sights set on the Berlin Marathon on September 30. (It's official! I registered this morning!!)
This past weekend, Philipp and I went to Ste. Marie, where his parents have a beach house. We were helping move some furniture, but we also managed to take a little time to relax, play on the beach, and enjoy being at the sea. On Monday morning, while Philipp mowed the grass, I went for a run. Since it was my first in a while, I took it easy as far as speed, and I walked after climbing some of the bigger hills. It's such a lovely path, along the sea, I felt envigorated. I ended up doing 10.5k, so a little more than 6 miles. Then I took off my shoes, and waded into the cool water to soothe my tired muscles. Aaahhh ...
Path along the shore, Ste. Marie
